Houston Chronicle writer Jonathan Alexander joins Next Up to discuss the Texans looking into retaining soon-to-be free agents before the legal tampering period begins on March 11.

The Texans have already re-signed tight end Dalton Schultz and kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn, and Alexander says linebacker Blake Cashman is "most likely" to get a deal done by the end of the weekend. If the Texans don't sign Cashman before free agency officially begins on March 13, then Cashman "could be on his way out."

Alexander also predicts that punter Cameron Johnston, defensive end Jonathan Greenard and cornerback Steven Nelson will all "test the market."

Minnesota Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter is set to hit free agency; however, Alexander is not confident that Hunter will land in Houston because he might be "the highest paid defensive end in this market," and the Texans are more likely to sign a defensive tackle.

Wide receiver Nico Collins will "be an emphasis" for a contract extension this spring, and Alexander expects running back Devin Singletary to be signed to "a one or two year deal.'
