KPRC reporter Aaron Wilson joins Next Up to discuss the Houston Texans attempting to trade for wide receiver Keenan Allen, who was traded to the Chicago Bears from the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to Wilson, the Texans offered a 2025 third-round pick and were willing to take on Allen's contract. "They took a pretty big swing at it," Wilson said. "[Allen] would have been an outstanding mentor to some of these young receivers."

The Texans bidding for Allen shows that the organization is looking to strengthen the wide receiver corps. Noah Brown was re-signed to a one-year, $5 million contract, and Tank Dell, Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III remain on the roster. Wilson goes through some of the receivers that could be available through free agency and trades, but cautions fans that the names that have been linked to the Texans aren't always available. "They sound good on paper, but this isn't fantasy football."
