    Texans Make Several Selections on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft

    HOUSTON – The Texans made their first draft pick, addressing the cornerback position by selecting Georgia standout Kamari Lassiter.

    Lassiter won two national championships with the Bulldogs.

    Lassiter (6-foot, 180 pounds, 4.65 speed in the 40-yard dash) was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.

    Lassister intercepted a pass and had 11 tackles as a true freshman.

    He had 21 tackles and eight passes defensed last season.

    He had 37 tackles last season for an outstanding Bulldogs defense.

    HOUSTON – The Texans drafted Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher in the second round with the 59th overall pick.

    Fisher (6-foot-6, 310 pounds, 34 3/8 arms, 10-inch hands) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds at the NFL scouting combine with a 28-inch vertical leap and a 9-6 broad jump.

    He started 12 games at right tackle last season, opting out of the Sun Bowl to get ready for the draft.

    He is a converted left tackle who started every game at right tackle the past two seasons.

    Fisher was projected as a second-round to third-round draft target.

    HOUSTON – USC safety Calen Bullock joined the Texans as their third-round draft pick.

    He was selected 78th overall as the Texans traded up to the Philadelphia Eagles’ original selection in exchange for the 86th and 123rd overall selections.

    Bullock visited the Texans during the draft process.

    An All-Pac-12 selection, Bullock (6-foot-2, 188 pounds, 4.48 speed), also visited the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons.

    Bullock has nine career interceptions and returned two for touchdowns.

    Bullock, a native of Pasadena, Calif., intercepted two interceptions last season and returned one for a touchdown. he had 61 tackles and seven pass breakups.

    As a sophomore, he was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection who intercepted five passes and returned one for a score. He started every game and had 48 tackles and five pass breakups.

    In 2021, he was named co-Defensive Perimeter Player of the Year for the Trojans. He had 40 tackles and two interceptions in six starts, including three at free safety, two at nickel and one at corner.
