Biff’s Banh Mi & Pho , the brainchild of Nykhol Phan and her husband, John Vu , is set to open its doors at 12105 Jones Rd . This new culinary venture replaces the now-closed Uncle’s Beans drive-thru coffee shop and promises to bring a taste of authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the area.

In an exclusive interview, Phan shared that this restaurant will also invovle their kids. “This is a family affair,” she said, highlighting the family’s hands-on approach to the business. The name, Biff’s Banh Mi & Pho, is a nod to Vu , who will be the restaurant’s “Biff.” He was born in the year of the ox from the Chinese zodiac, symbolizing strength and perseverance. Additionally, the water buffalo is the national animal for Vietnam, which perfectly represents their vision.

Biff’s Banh Mi & Pho will offer a wide array of Vietnamese foods, desserts, and drinks, including boba teas. Specializing in pho, the restaurant will feature a grilled pork meat special, along with an extensive menu of sandwiches, rice, noodles, smoothies, teas, and desserts. “It was tough to find good Vietnamese options around here,” Phan explained of their arrival in Houston with limited cuisine of this type. After moving to Houston from California and seeing this hole in the area needing filled, it was only fitting that they also fulfill one of Vu’s dreams of owning his own restaurant by opening Biff’s.

The restaurant will provide a full-service dining experience and a convenient drive-thru option for pickup. They are expecting it to be a very positive offering for their patrons. With Vu’s extensive experience in the food service industry and Phan’s background in restaurant equipment sales, the couple is well-equipped to make this venture a success.

As of now, they are expected to open no later than early July 2024, so future Biff’s fans don’t have long to wait to get their pallette satiated with authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
