The two illegal Venezuelan migrants accused of murdering 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston lured her under a bridge where they sexually assaulted her for two hours prior to killing her, prosecutors claimed in new court documents.

Franklin Jose Pena Ramos , 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez , 21, are accused of bounding Nnugaray's hands behind her back and stripping her naked during the brutal assault before strangling her to death and dumping her body in a Houston bayou, according to the documents revealed in a Harris County courtroom on Monday (June 24) via KPRC .

The 12-year-old was also found to have had her feet bound and cuts covering her back. Ramos allegedly asked his employer at a construction site for money in order to leave Houston after the incident took place, FOX 26 Houston reports.

Both suspects face capital murder charges and prosecutors have not ruled out pursuing the death penalty, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in the courtroom.

Ramos, who illegally crossed the U.S. border at El Paso on May 28, appeared in court on Monday, at which point Ogg deemed him a flight risk and set his bond at $10 million, which was 10 times more than the defense sought and double the amount initially requested by prosecutors. Martinez, who entered the U.S. illegally at El Paso in March, has not yet had his bail set as of Tuesday (June 25) morning.

“Our immigration system is broken and if there was ever a case that reflected that, it’s this one,” Ogg said during a press conference on Monday via the New York Post .

A GoFundMe page to help Jocelyn's family "properly mourn in peace" has raised more than $68,000, nearly doubling its goal of $35,000, in less than one week.
