Houston Texans' C.J. Stroud could add another piece of hardware to his trophy case this offseason

The Houston Texans haven't really won any type of hardware, ever, really, as a team. They have never made it to a Super Bowl, which means they have never won a conference championship.

The only hardware that they can really claim is J.J. Watt's Defensive Player of the Year Award, and any Rookie of the Year awards they have gotten, such as C.J. Stroud's this past year, along with Will Anderson's.

This season, after trading for Stefon Diggs and making other moves, the Texans have solidified themselves as Super Bowl contenders . That doesn't mean they will win it, because, as we know, it runs through the Kansas City Chiefs, but they can win it.

Until we figure out if they add that hardware at the end of the 2024 season, let's focus on the individual hardware that some Texans players will win. Stroud, who has won Offensive Rookie of the Year, and a few other awards by both the Associated Press and the Pro Football Writers of America, is up for another award this offseason.

The ESPYs are coming soon, July 11 to be exact, which means we could see Stroud walk away with a trophy of some sort. He is up for the Best Breakthrough Athlete Award, which makes perfect sense.

He started his rookie season slow, as do most rookies. But, once he figured things out, he definitely broke through, ended up having a historic season, and even made history a few times, one in particular against the Cleveland Browns.

He definitely deserves the award. But, if you ask him, he probably doesn't care. He will be humble, but the only thing he cares about is the Lombardi Trophy.
