The Texans have one of the strongest rosters in the league heading into the 2024 season, especially when it comes to talent under 25 years old. If there's an Achilles' heel for this team it might be their offensive line unit, which is arguably one of the worst in the NFL, at least on paper. ESPN analyst Mike Clay has Houston's offensive line ranked near the bottom of his unit rankings, coming in at No. 28 on his list.

From left to right, the projected starters for the Texans this year are Larmy Tunsil at left tackle, Kenyon Green at left guard, Juice Scruggs at center, Shaq Mason at right guard and Tytus Howard at right tackle. Mason is one of the more underrated interior linemen in the game, but aside from Tunsil nobody here is average-or-better as a starter at their respective positions.

The weakest link in the chain might be Howard on the right side. He had the lowest pass-blocking grade of any offensive lineman on the team lsat year. Replacing him in the 2025 NFL draft class with a highly-touted right tackle prospect ( perhaps a prized prospect from Arizona ) should be on their to do list next offseason.

For now, offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik will have to figure out how to help C.J. Stroud develop in Year 2 while cutting down on the pressure he saw as a rookie. Only nine teams around the league allowed more sacks (47) than Houston last year.
