The Houston Texans could be continuing to try and add weapons for C.J. Stroud, even during training camp, as they have now signed Cam Akers, and are working out more wide receivers.

Teams usually make signings before camp to give a few players a shot that they think can help their team if all goes well. They have already signed a former UFL defender , and have made some other moves as well, like signing Quintez Cephus.

And now, they are working out another receiver, after working out several others this offseason. This time, it's Greg Ward Jr., according to Aaron Wilson of KCPR2, who previously played for the Philadelphia Eagles. Ward Jr. is from Tyler, Texas, and played at the University of Houston, so he is somewhat established with the city already.

In 40 games played throughout his NFL career, Ward Jr. caught 10 touchdowns, 88 receptions, and has nearly 800 receiving yards.

This is a player that is experienced and has some scoring under his belt. If the workout went well, we could see him compete for one of the very few roster spots available. However, if he doesn't make it, they may add him to the practice squad.
