The Houston Texans have been very busy this week. Of course, the players and coaches have been busy with training camp, as it's finally here and the Texans practice all last week. But, the front office has been busy, too.

They have been working relentlessly to make this team as good as it can be. Even during training camp, they have been signing more players left and right, and working others out to get an idea of if they would be good enough or not.

On Sunday, the Texans signed veteran running back formerly of the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, Cam Akers. The former Florida State stud has had a rough time in the league as he has dealt with some of the most unfortunate injuries you can imagine, and at the worst times, too.

However, the Texans worked him out and saw something good enough that they could sign him and make him a depth piece behind Joe Mixon and maybe even Dameon Pierce. The Texans are loaded in the running back room now, but that's not a bad thing.

As for training camp, Akers is already in attendance and putting in some great work.

His footwork looks great, and he looks like he didn't come into camp in bad shape, but the exact opposite. Akers was also on the Super Bowl-winning team in Los Angeles, so he has seen up close and personal what it looks like to win.

Cam Akers is a guy who could either be the backup behind Mixon or fight for a roster spot and be on the bubble. As of right now, during training camp , they can have up to 90 players on their roster, but sometime before Week 1 of the regular season, they have to cut that down to 53 and have a 16-man practice squad.

So, be watching for any storylines that come out of camp about how well he is doing.
