Mather Promoted to S-C Vocal Music Director
The Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education has approved the promotion of Avery Mather to vocal music director at Smith-Cotton High School. Mather, a member of Smith-Cotton’s Class of 2017, has been the music teacher at Horace Mann Elementary the past two school years. Mather will lead high school vocal music education, including direction of auditioned choirs and the New Score Singers show choir.

Firefighters rescue stranded utility worker trapped on water tower
JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. —Fire crews 60 miles southeast of Kansas City made a daring rescue this week. On Tuesday afternoon, the Warrensburg Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from the Higginsville Fire Protection District to rescue of a worker that was stuck on the side of a water tower due to a safety equipment malfunction, according to a media release.
Seymour man accused of stealing cattle from Missouri
HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — A Seymour man is accused of stealing cattle from Missouri. Jordan Leisgang is indicted in Howell County, Missouri for receiving stolen property. According to authorities, a Howell County man helped purchase and transfer 450 head of cattle for Leisgang last August. After the delivery was made, Leisgang allegedly refused to pay for the cattle and ended communication with the man.
