HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. – The Coroner’s Office is investigating after a man died following an incident at the Howard County Fairgrounds Saturday evening.

Jose Oropeza’s coworkers took the unresponsive man to the Greentown Vol. Fire Co. around 6:30 p.m.  Responders did CPR and provided advanced cardiac life support, but he did not survive.

Coroner Dr. Steven Seele believes the Venezuelan Oropeza had been working for a food vendor and was helping to set up for the county’s 4-H Fair when he got electrocuted.  It is not clear what caused the shock.

More information about the man’s death should be released once the investigation is complete and lab results have been analyzed.

If you know anything about this, please call the Howard County Coroner’s Office at 765-456-1186, or the Sheriff’s Office at 765-457-1105.
