Howard County community members voiced support and critiques Monday night for the proposed establishment of an Office of the Inspector General. The office, which council member Liz Walsh proposed this month, would “uncover and address instances of waste, fraud and abuse” in organizations that receive county funding. Walsh proposed the office with advice and inspiration from Inspectors General Isabel Mercedes Cumming, of Baltimore City, and Kelly Madigan, of Baltimore County.
