The Mall in Columbia food court shooting leaves 17-year dead

BALTIMORE -- A 17-year-old died from a shooting during a dispute at the food court inside The Mall of Columbia on Saturday, Howard County Police said.

Officers responded around 6:10 p.m. for reports of a shooting at the food court.

Angelo Little, from Columbia, was found dead, police said.

"We don't believe that this was a random incident and we do believe the victim was targeted," Howard County Police spokesperson Sherry Llewellyn said. "We don't have any information about a history of a relationship between the two, but based on our preliminary evidence, this was not a random incident."

Police said there were no indications of an active shooter. No arrests have been made.

"I am aware of the ongoing situation at the Mall in Columbia," Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. "Our Howard County Police Department is actively investigating and will provide updates as information becomes available."

Authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000.
