HOWELL - Police have identified the motorcyclist killed last week after being hit by a minivan in Howell.

Aaron Aponte, 28, of Freehold has been identified after the fatal incident Tuesday, according to authorities.

Howell police went to the scene of the fatal crash shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday on Fort Plains Road and Jerry's Lane, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said in a statement Thursday. Aponte failed to negotiate a curve on a road in Howell on his motorcycle and fell, causing himself and his bike to slide into the path of an oncoming minivan, killing him.
