Watkins follow teammate to A-State
For the second straight year the Arkansas State Red Wolves have grabbed a player with Jackson (Miss.) Academy ties. Defensive back Samuel "DJ" Watkins, who is prepping for his senior season at Madison Ridgeland Academy after transferring from Jackson Academy in December, pledged his commitment to the A-State last week. Former high school teammate Kiandre Terry will be a freshman with the Red Wolves this season.
Chris Joblin joins Arkansas State baseball coaching staff
Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced Monday the addition of former Miami Marlins area scout Chris Joblin to the Red Wolves’ staff. Joblin served as the head coach at Galveston College from 2013-2018 before joining the Marlins organization. He finished with a 199-148 overall record with the Whitecaps, winning a conference championship in 2014 and making six consecutive NJCAA Region XIV Tournament appearances.
