The crash happened Monday morning on state Route 62, about a half mile east of Chestnut Ridge Road.

According to a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the car was stopped on the left side of the road when a motorcycle traveling westbound hit the back end of the car, causing the motorcyclist to lose control and go over the guardrail.

The damaged motorcycle came to a rest against a guardrail.

The driver of the car told investigators that they were stopping to check on a pedestrian who was walking in the median right before the crash.

At this time, the condition of the motorcyclist is unknown.
