Horse and Hound Festival rides off into the sunset
The Johnson’s Orchard “Horse and Hound Festival” has been cancelled for 2024. However, why it was cancelled cannot be explained simply. This would have been the twentieth year for the popular event. Held in July, the festival has evolved into one of the premiere events in Bedford County. Sponsored by the Johnson family at their apple orchard in Thaxton, the event featured dogs, horses and wine. Visitors came from all over to enjoy a variety of horse and hound demonstrations, see various dog breeds and sample wines from local vineyards.
