City Of Hickory’s Aviation Walk To Open Tuesday, July 30
Hickory – The next segment of the Hickory Trail is slated to open to the public this month. A ribbon cutting will mark the official grand opening of the Aviation Walk on Tuesday, July 30, at 10 a.m. Members of the Hickory community are invited to attend the ceremony at the new Aviation Walk pedestrian bridge trailhead at 1240 U.S. 321 NW in Hickory.
Enjoy The Extraordinaires And Fireworks In Alexander County On Saturday, July 20
Taylorsville, NC – The public is invited to enjoy an Independence Celebration on Saturday, July 20 with a free concert and fireworks. This installment of the 2024 Summer Concert Series will feature “The Extraordinaires” at 7:00 p.m. on the Rotary Performance Stage at Alexander County Courthouse Park. First Meeting held in the renovated Catawba Space at the Hickory Metro Convention Center
It’s official, the first meeting took place in part of the renovated Catawba meeting rooms at the Hickory Metro Convention Center on July 17, 2024. About 100 local officials and business leaders attended the Economic Development Corporation of Catawba County Annual Meeting in this newly renovated and fresh space. The renovation includes lower ceilings, new carpet, and paint, new lighting and audio, along with a chic color scheme and design.
Downtown Hickory Fall Art Crawl 2024 Is Calling For Artists
Hickory – The Hickory Downtown Development Association is seeking artists interested in participating in the upcoming Fall Downtown Hickory Art Crawl. Art in most disciplines will be accepted, although art must be in good taste and able to be shown to persons of all ages. Artists will display their works in and around local downtown Hickory businesses and demonstrations are encouraged. There is no charge to the artist for participation and no commissions are charged on items sold, but artists are required to personally pay all applicable NC taxes.

City Of Hickory Receives State Grant For Downtown Streetscape Improvements
HICKORY, N.C. – The City of Hickory is one of seven grant recipients in the State of North Carolina’s new Rural Downtown Economic Development program. Last month, Governor Roy Cooper and the North Carolina Department of Commerce announced the award of an $850,000 grant to the City of Hickory to assist with two streetscape projects in the downtown Hickory area.
