Whether it's for his political opinions, podcast guests, or championing mainstream psychedelics, in our digital age, everything Joe Rogan does, says, or endorses is newsworthy. So, it's no surprise Joe Rogan's new comedy club, Comedy Mothership (known by many as "The Mothership"), is making waves in the comedy community.

Before becoming a UFC commentator, Tae Kwon Do champion, archery enthusiast, and host of the biggest podcast in the world, Joe has always been one thing.

    A comedian.

Since the age of 21, Joe Rogan has been hitting the open mics as a standup comedian, honing his unfiltered comedy. And now, as a 34-year veteran of the game, Joe has decided to lay roots in Austin Texas, to begin building the next generation of comedians.

The Mothership is a hub for budding comedians to develop their standup comedy skills without fear of cancellation or censorship. And since its launch on March 07th, 2023, comedians have been travelling from around the world to visit the new home of comedy, Austin Texas.

On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, while talking to Pauly Shore (a famed comedian in his own right and son of Mitzi Shore, who owned and operated The Comedy Store, renowned for its rich history, in Los Angeles, California), Joe had this to say about why he decided to open his own club:

"I just did it because I could. It was one of those things where it's like if someone could they should. And I could, so... I wound up doing it."

Joe admits never wanting to own a comedy club in the past, as he saw it as a heavy burden on his already jam-packed schedule. But, he felt obligated to give back to the comedy community he holds so dear to his heart. Aside from being the home to some of the biggest legends in comedy (with regular appearances from Dave Chapelle, Ron White, Bill Bur, and many more), Joe's club aims to put comedy first.

Audience members are required to lock their phones in secure bags before entering shows, so comedians can work out their sets without fear of public scrutiny or cancellation. And, the bar serves no food as to not interrupt ongoing acts.

With multiple rooms meticulously crafted by some of the greatest minds in comedy to create an optimal connection between performers and audience members, and imported staff such as legendary Comedy Store talent coordinator, Adam Eget, The Mothership aims to be America's nucleus for new and developing comedic talent.

To comedians and comedy fans alike, the art form is a precious one -- and Joe is doing his best to protect pure comedy and promote unfiltered laughs for generations to come.
