UFC president, Dana White, is a notoriously high roller.
The 54-year-old Massachusetts native has joked openly for years about being a "degenerate gambler", and lore of his big wins has long since been passed around UFC fighters and staff alike.
Like the time Dana was banned from the Palms Casino, in Las Vegas, after winning a reported $2 million on the blackjack tables. Speaking with gamblingnews.com, Dana revealed this was actually the second time he was banned.
"Instead of just asking me to leave the way that the previous owners did, they gave me this. Undisputed Blackjack Champion. 24-0. This is a cool way to say get the f*** out of our casino and don’t come back."
"I think he said he's lost as much as $1 and won as much as $7 million in a night."
And, since the $4 billion acquisition of UFC by Endeavor in 2016, the lore behind Dana's gambling has only grown. Earning an estimated $400 million during the sale alone, it's safe to say Dana has a lot of money to throw around.
And, taking a less hands-on approach, with the UFC continuing to consistently top its best years of revenue, he seems to be spending more time in the casinos than ever. On another episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe shared a recent inside look at the highs and lows of Dana's high-roller's club.
"He's $600,000 USD in the hole and he's fine... I go, 'Do you do this a lot?' He [Dana] goes, 'Too much'."
He then recounts a story of Dana taking a vacation in Italy, only to hire a casino to come to his yacht, so he could gamble while touring the Amalfi coast.
Dana post this image of the trip to social media, with the caption, "When you're supposed to be on vacation but you're a sick f*ck."
Although Joe admits Dana is in no danger of bankruptcy, he shares his views on the socially accepted addiction popular culture often glorifies,
"It's not like he can't pay his mortgage, he has plenty of money... However, watching those guys play, it's psycho... it everything goes terribly wrong, you could lose $300,000,000 USD... He loves that gambling rush, I don't like it."
