Malcious wounding incident under investigation

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On the evening of Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at around 8:08 pm, Trooper L.A. Wriston and Trooper N.J. Adams were dispatched to RJ’s Recycling at 7090 East Dupont Avenue near the community of Glasgow, Kanawha County, WV, following an assault complaint reported by Kanawha County Metro 911 Communications.

Upon their arrival, the troopers found the victim, identified as 42-year-old Billy Wayne Palmer of Hugheston, WV, lying face-up with severe lacerations to the face and head area. Although the troopers identified a suspect, the individual had fled the scene before their arrival.

Billy Palmer was then transported to CAMC General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. In the early hours of Thursday, June 6, 2024, the suspect, identified as 72-year-old William Holt Cobb of Winfield, WV, was located.

The troopers obtained an arrest warrant for William Cobb and took him into custody without incident.
