New law requires Georgia schools to carry overdose reversal medication
MACON, Ga. (WPGA) - A Georgia law now requires schools to keep medicine on hand to quickly reverse an opioid overdose. SB 395, also known as Wesley’s Law, authorizes the possession of medication that blocks the effects of opioids in schools. That medication is commonly known as Narcan or Naloxone. Naloxone will help reverse the effects of opioids allowing a person to resume breathing.
