Need a replacement PA license plate? Free upcoming event

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) – Pennsylvania residents with damaged or unreadable license plates can get a free replacement this week.

Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) is hosting two upcoming license plate replacement events in Huntingdon and Shippensburg.

Huntingdon event:

• Thursday, Aug. 1
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Smithfield Fire Hall, 10 Firehouse Lane

Shippensburg event (will also provide car seat safety checks):

• Friday, Aug. 2
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Southampton Township Municipal Building, 703 Municipal Drive

Vehicle owners need to bring their unexpired Pennsylvania driver’s license and current vehicle registration card to the event.

Officers will help residents fill out paperwork, and once PennDOT has completed processing, the new plates will be available at Irvin’s district offices for pick-up.

Residents unable to attend can apply for a license plate by using the PennDOT form MV-46 . Once the completed form is signed by either a police officer or certified safety inspector, it can be submitted to Irvin’s district offices for processing.

Huntingdon District Office: 612 Pennsylvania Ave, Huntingdon

Shippensburg District Office: 701 Municipal Dr, Shippensburg
