Huntington Station Man, 67, Killed in Head-On Crash

A Huntington Station man was killed in a head-on collision Friday in Aquebogue, the RiverheadLOCAL reported.

Matthew Schramm, 67, was operating a 2002 Nissan; Anthony Croce, 65, of Brooklyn, was driving a 2018 BMW when the vehicles collided on Main Road in Aquebogue.

Both drivers suffered significant injuries, Riverhead police said.

Schramm was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital, police said.

Croce was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of injuries police described as not life-threatening.

Riverhead police detectives  and the State Police Forensic Investigation Unit responded to the scene of the accident to assist in the investigation.
