New Almost Heaven Swing unveiled at Huntington’s Rotary Park

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – The West Virginia Department of Tourism has unveiled one of its most popular tourist attractions in a new location.

The department’s Almost Heaven Swings have become iconic locations to snap that perfect Mountain State photo.

On Friday, a new Almost Heaven Swing was unveiled at Rotary Park in Huntington. The area was selected for its stunning overlook.

“Everybody knows Ritter [Park], which we love, but Rotary is huge and has so many things to offer, including this incredible view that a lot of people don’t realize,” said Anna Adkins with the Huntington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Maybe they’ve seen photos of it, but don’t know that they could get there. So, now we have a swing here, and they can have their picture there along with the beautiful view.”

The WV Department of Tourism partnered with the Huntington Convention and Vistors Bureau and the Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation District to have the swing installed.

“Summer travel is in full swing and visiting all of these new photo-op locations is the perfect way to start checking off your West Virginia Summer Bucket List,” said West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby. “I’m appreciative of Huntington’s continued partnership and commitment in helping to spread the word that West Virginia truly is an Almost Heaven destination.”

This is the 25th Almost Heaven Swing in the state. The locations for the swings include:
