CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — The NCAA College Football video game is back, and Marshall football is in the game.

This year marks the first time since 2013 that EA Sports released a new entry in their college football game series, but this edition is the first time ever that players are compensated to have their authentic likenesses in the game.

For quarterback Braylon Braxton, he gets to play as himself for the first time.

“I like when people play with me, get to use me, use my abilities, mimic some of the stuff I do in real life. That’s pretty cool,” Braxton said.

For wide receiver Chuck Montgomery, he thought this day would never come.

“We’re in the game, and the next generation can spend their time figuring out how they can be the best person they can be doing the same thing,” Montgomery said.

Now that Marshall is in the game, Braxton said it’s a chance for the players to live out their wildest dreams building a dynasty with the Herd and making a name for themselves.

“The Heisman, 12 team playoffs, I’m winning all of those. I’m winning the Heisman and the conference at the same time. I don’t know how I’m gonna do it, but I’m gonna do it,” Braxton said.

Event organizers said about 150 fans signed up to attend, as well as the entire Marshall football team. The game released on early access on Monday and releases worldwide on Friday, July 19.
