Huntington (W.V.) Huntington Prep 2026 prospect Tayveon Wilson hasn’t visited Miami before, but he’s ready to change that this weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound up-and-coming recruiting target plans to visit Coral Gables with his father after previously attending camps at Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State this summer. He also plans to visit West Virginia before the start of the August dead period and visited Tennessee and Louisville this spring; he says he’s been eager to make the trip to Miami.

Wilson is unranked as a receiver by the On3 database but is being recruited by Miami as a tight end.

“I’m really excited, because when (tight ends) coach (Cody) Woodiel first told me (about visiting) at the beginning of the summer I texted my parents immediately and said, ‘We have to get down there,'” Wilson said. “Just the location (is attractive), and it’s not close so I won’t be able to be there that often, and I want to meet all of the coaches.”

Wilson received a Miami offer in April following Woodiel’s visit to his school, although the two began speaking more consistently after coaches became permitted to directly call and text 2026 recruits in mid-June. He said Miami, Clemson, West Virginia and Penn State have done the best job recruiting him over the last month, and he says it’s too early to name a firm list of top schools.

“(I’m looking for) a welcoming coaching staff that’s willing to push me and great academics,” Wilson said. “I want to meet all of the coaches. I’ve only gotten to meet coach Woodiel so far, and I want to talk to all of the coaches and I want to see campus.”

Wilson said he plans to arrive Friday and leave Sunday.

    CaneSport’s Take

Wilson is still being evaluated by several schools and has size and length that suggests he could play receiver or tight end at the college level. He’ll likely need to add weight to move to tight end but has receiving ability that makes him intriguing as a potential weapon. He’s also played linebacker at the high school level.
