Huntington woman indicted for allegedly dropkicking child on video in 2022

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – A woman has been indicted after a video of her allegedly kicking a child in the head surfaced in the summer of 2022.

According to Cabell County Circuit Court documents, a grand jury indicted Staci Lynn Burgy on a charge of “child abuse creating risk of injury.” She was arrested in July 2022 in connection to the incident.

The alleged incident happened sometime between June 27, 2022, and July 1, 2022, at a home in Huntington, the indictment says. According to the criminal complaint, the video depicts a woman, allegedly Burgy, saying “This is ‘Jackass.’ This is kick a kid,” before jumping into the air and dropkicking a child in the side.

The criminal complaint stated that the video also showed bruising on the child’s side, which authorities said they believed was from the incident.
