    Breaking News

Thompson says that court documents and statements claim Abner sold approximately one gram of fentanyl to a confidential informant in Nitro for $120 on Oct. 4, 2023. Court records say she admitted to that sale on Oct. 17, 2023. Abner was arrested on Nov. 15, 2023, at her home. According to Thompson, law enforcement seized approximately 3.5 grams of suspected fentanyl from Abner’s home.

Court records say Abner admitted the drug trafficking organization’s ringleader and others involved supplied her with approximately 10 grams of fentanyl to distribute each week between June 2022 and the time of her arrest.

According to court records, Godfrey is accused of receiving a call from another person on Sept. 4, 2023, who asked him to sell 10 grams of fentanyl and a quantity of meth to a specific customer who would pay $500 for the drugs. Thompson says Godfrey admitted to selling the drugs to the customer at a location in Huntington. He also admitted that he had been involved in the drug trafficking organization from at least August 2023 through November 2023.

27 indicted in multi-state drug trafficking sting

Thompson says the drug trafficking organization’s ring leader, Derrell Cashawn Massey, 34, of Detroit, pleaded guilty to a charge of distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and is still awaiting sentencing.

According to Thompson’s office, Abner, Godfrey and Massey are among 21 of 27 indicted individuals who have pleaded guilty in the case. Thompson first announced the indictments on Nov. 15, 2023, the same day Abner was arrested. The indictments followed an eight-month multi-state investigation.
