Woman Found in Suitcase Identified

Suffolk County police identified a homeless woman as the person whose body was found in a suitcase Wednesday on Nassau Road in Huntington.

Seikeya Jones, 31, was listed as missing in mid-August.

Several reporters who had gathered Thursday near the scene of the crime because relatives had planned a press conference were approached a woman who said her daughter was a friend of the victim. And a man who lived in apartment building near where Jones’ body was found said he had video of her in the apartment building hallway, and later, of someone taking a suitcase out of the building.

The cause of death is still being determined by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Suffolk police discovered the suitcase with the remains after a report of suspicious activity in front of the apartment building at 320 Nassau Road early Tuesday morning.
