‘Diverging Diamonds’ Interchange Patterns Emerging in Tennessee
A unique traffic route may be coming to an interstate new you. However, it may cause you to drive on the “wrong” side of the road. It’s called a Diverging Diamond Interchange (or DDI for short) and the first DDI in middle Tennessee opened at the end of May in Spring Hill on Interstate 65 at June Lake. More of these unique intersections are planned for the middle Tennessee area.
Surcheros Signs Largest Development Deal in Company History
Surcheros, a community favorite rooted in bold flavors with Southern hospitality, is set to mark its official debut in Tennessee. The Fresh Mex brand has announced a significant franchise agreement with WilCo Fresh Mex, LLC, marking the brand’s largest development deal to date. This expansion will introduce Surcheros to the Nashville market with plans for seven new units.
Tony Vitello earns third 2024 national coach of the year award
Tennessee baseball won the 2024 national championship in Tony Vitello’s seventh season as head coach for the Vols. On Tuesday, Vitello was named national coach of the year by D1Baseball. He has earned three national coach of the year awards after winning the College World Series. Vitello has now earned six national coaching honors during his tenure with the Vols. Tennessee also won the Southeastern Conference East division, the SEC regular-season championship and the SEC Tournament in 2024. Man wanted in shooting of Tennessee trooper arrested in Caldwell Co.
A suspect in the shooting of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper has been arrested in Caldwell County. Kentucky State Police said Blaze Rucker, 29, was an occupant in a vehicle along with another male when, on Friday, a Tennessee trooper conducted a traffic stop on I-40 in Putnam County near the Burgess Falls exit. During the stop, Trooper Adam Cothron was shot, with the vehicle then fleeing the scene.
