FAFSA Clinics Next Week Supporting UC Families
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission is offering free FAFSA clinics to give Upper Cumberland families hands-on support while applying for federal student aid. Senior Outreach Director Jason Seay said they have always had FAFSA workshops at high schools and colleges throughout the state but families need more support this year. Seay said last year’s revamping of the system has led to technical issues and some parental concerns.

This past week The Jack Daniel Distillery introduced Distillery Series Selection #13 – a Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey twice barreled in new, charred American white oak barrels. It is the latest in the distillery’s line of experimental and innovative whiskeys.

Kentucky's new truancy law is now in effect
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Truancy is a real problem throughout the state of Kentucky. Last year close to 30 % of students were absent for 10% or more of the school year. Jared Revlett, the Public Information Officer for Owensboro Public Schools, says, "Recently, really since 2020, we’ve seen a growing number of truancy cases in our district and really across the state as a whole.”
