Grant to upgrade Huntsville Madison County Railroad system called ‘game changer’
MONTGOMERY — The train is a’comin’, comin’ around the bend. And, with the help of a $1 million grant, the Huntsville Madison County Railroad will continue to be coming around bends and through the Rocket City providing a key link to area industries and the economy.
Huntsville enforcing distracted driving ordinance
Enforcement of an amended ordinance that prohibits the use of handheld devices while operating a motor vehicle went into effect Monday to reduce distracted driving crashes. The city ordinance, which took effect Jan. 1, upgraded violations from a secondary to a primary offense, allowing officers to stop a driver when they see a violation and issue a citation.
