    Mark Chesnutt Posts Update After Undergoing Emergency Heart Surgery

    Honky tonk legend Mark Chesnutt announced his next performance amid his recovery from an emergency quadruple bypass surgery last month.

    Chesnutt, 60, posted information about the show on Instagram on Tuesday (July 16). He will perform at Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon , set for Wednesday, October 9. The show for Dean Dillon , a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame, will take place at Propst Arena at VBC in Huntsville, Alabama. The star-studded lineup will include George Strait , Vince Gill , Ronnie Dunn , ERNEST and Riley Green .

    Chesnutt, hailed “one of the most signatured country music voices of the 90s and a honky tonk mainstay for more than three decades,” was hospitalized last month, per a statement shared to his Instagram account at that time. The Texas-born singer-songwriter “underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery.” Chesnutt has since said that he’s “ healing at home comfortably ,” after the procedure.

    “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming shows,” Chesnutt said in a statement shared after his emergency surgery last month. “I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you.”
