HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Land Trust of North Alabama will host a ribbon cutting for a new trail at Green Mountain on Tuesday.

On July 30 at 9 a.m., the Land Trust of North Alabama will host a ribbon cutting for a new 2.25-mile trail on Green Mountain. The ribbon cutting will be at the Green Mountain Nature Preserve for Land Trust members.

Registration now open for Huntsville’s ‘Male Mentorship Program’

The moderate trail route took around two years to complete. It provides a whole new area of the mountain for guests to explore.

The nature preserve says the trail is all downhill and follows down the mountainside and features large boulders and quiet woodlands. There is about a 580-foot elevation change on the trail.

Members can sign up for the first look at the trail on the Land Trust of North Alabama’s website .
