'Abandoned' vehicle scam in Lyon County becomes arrest for Evansville woman
A vehicle that appeared to be abandoned in Lyon County turned into a short pursuit and the arrest of an Indiana woman. While patrolling near the Eureka Campground at Lake Barkley, Lyon County Sheriff Brent White located an abandoned pickup along KY 1271 Sunday. ISP Improves Crash Investigation & Safety Techniques
To help with traffic crash investigations, as well as identify best practices to keep officers safe, the Illinois State Police (ISP) participated in the Illinois Association of Technical Accident Investigators crash testing event on June 26-28, 2024. The event took place at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. ISP officers from the Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, Crime Scene Services, Division of Patrol, and representatives from the ISP Forensic Laboratory joined law enforcement officers and crash scene investigators from other agencies for the three-day event. Attendees witnessed live crash testing and participated in forensic mapping and digital evidence recovery.
Noise complaint leads to gun-related arrests
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Illinois (WSIL) -- Officials arrested three people after a noise complaint revealed hidden guns and paraphernalia. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office sent deputies to a home in rural West Frankfort at 12:05 a.m. to look into the noise complaint. Deputies spoke to multiple people there at the home.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau tourism leaders announced the Viking Cruise Lines are making some changes to planned itineraries for future cruises.
