City of Hutchinson About to Move on the Atrium
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Issues involving the former Atrium Hotel at 11th and K-61 are about to come to a head. The Hutchinson City Council will be asked Tuesday July 2nd to set a show-cause public hearing for August 20th on whether the long-troubled hotel should be declared unsafe and dangerous, and the property ordered repaired or demolished.

Hutchinson’s skies will be lighting up next week as fireworks will be fired as part of the annual July 4 celebration that will sweep the nation. City Attorney Paul Brown said Hutchinson’s residents are allowed to shoot fireworks on private property 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily from Sunday, June 30 for five days through Thursday, July 4.

United Way of Reno County commits $850,000 to local nonprofits
RENO COUNTY — United Way of Reno County is investing $850,000 in 21 local nonprofits for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This includes $306,000 for Education programs, $224,000 for Health Programs, and $320,000 for Income Stability Programs. Old K-14 resurfacing is set in Reno, Rice counties

The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves a mill and overlay in Reno County from the south city limits of Nickerson to the south tie-in at Dean Road. SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Fire Chief Greg Henke said Wednesday that the City of South Hutchinson is allowing fireworks to be used one day before usual. South Hutchonians will be able to use fireworks from June 29 - July 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. There are five licensed fireworks dealers in the city and four tents, as one dealer uses a permanent structure as its selling point.
