Alexandria's 40 Under 40 2024
The Chamber ALX honored 40 Alexandria residents age 40 and younger for making significant contributions to the community. “Each honoree was selected for their professional accomplishments, scholastic achievement, community impact, and personal story,” according to the Chamber. “The 40 Under 40 program was established in 2016 to recognize those age, 40 and under, engaged in a variety of fields including business, technology, nonprofit management, civic life, public service, education, and the arts, who are shaping Alexandria for the future.”
Metropolitan Police Seek Public's Assistance to Capture Suspect in Northwest Washington Burglary Spree
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently soliciting help from the public to track down a suspect linked to a series of burglaries in Northwest Washington. These incidents involved forceful entries and theft at three distinct locations. According to information released by the MPD, the first break-in occurred in the early hours of July 1 in the 2300 block of 18th Street, with the case number 24100612.
The Angry Jerk Expands to Dupont Circle Location
The Angry Jerk’s second location is now open in the former HipCityVeg location at 1300 Connecticut Ave. NW in D.C.’s Dupont Circle neighborhood. Owner Jason Miskiri originally opened The Angry Jerk at 8223 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring in 2021. Later, he signed a lease for a 2,200-square-foot space at the Juniper apartment complex near the Merriweather Post Pavilion at 6000 Merriweather Drive in Columbia, which is still listed as “Coming Soon” on the restaurant’s website.
