A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a 2022 killing in Nampa.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office told KTVB on Thursday that 34-year-old Manuel Santana, who is currently being held at the Idaho Department of Correction on unrelated charges, will face charges in connection to the homicide.

Santana will be transported to the Canyon County jail, and law enforcement will serve him a first-degree homicide warrant related to the deadly shooting, KTVB reported.

A first arrest was made earlier this month when 41-year-old Olivia Hernandez was taken into custody in Potter County, Texas, in connection to the slaying of 20-year-old Issac Bernal in November 2022. KTVB reported that she was facing charges of aiding and abetting murder and accessory to felony harboring.

Bernal was killed on Nov. 26, 2022, in the 17000 block of North Pegram Way in Nampa. At the time, police said the shooting was gang-related.

In 2021, Bernal was one of four men arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Caldwell that left one man dead and another man injured.
