SODA SPRINGS — Pace Development Group has plans to build new housing in a 28 to 32 acre area near the high school.

Pace Johnson, leader of Pace Development Group, said they are not sure what they want to build in the area yet, but they are sure that most of it will be residential.

"We need to decide what is the best use for the land," he said. "We want to make it applicable to the residents of Soda Springs."

Johnson said they are also considering other amenities for the community, such as a daycare or RV storage. They have received feedback from the community.

"Nothing's been decided," he said. "We're wanting to see what's best for the citizens."

Johnson said Pace Development Group hopes to make a decision by springtime on what to build on the property, which is located northeast of Soda Springs High School near 301 N. Hooper Ave. and west of Kelly Park.

"We'd like to have some greater clarity come springtime," he said. "I think time is of the essence. We want to break ground sooner rather than later."

Johnson said there is a need for more affordable housing in the community. He said he hopes to make the area a good place to live for families and anyone else who would want to live there.

"The need is there," he said. "We want to make sure they're comfortable and attractive for the community and for families with children."

Johnson said feedback from the community is always welcome. He said anyone with questions or feedback can reach out to Karen Salas, liaison for Pace Development Group, at karensalasutah@gmail.com.
