    Wednesday, Aug. 7Revive @ 5 takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays in the summer at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. There will be live music, food, cold beverages and fun for the entire family.

    Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena at the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello. Admission is free.

    Ronnie and The Redwoods will perform live starting at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the First National Bar, 232 W. Center St. in Pocatello.

    Thursday, Aug. 8

    The Pocatello Fire Department will bring “Cool Rain” to Raymond Park in Pocatello at noon Thursday, Aug. 8. During the event, firefighters station an engine near the park and turn the hoses on, giving park-goers a chance to cool off in the simulated rain.

    The Yellowstone Restaurant, 230 W. Bonneville St. in Pocatello, hosts live jazz featuring Freddy Gildersleeve and rotating guests every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Y Lounge.

    Jacob Westfall will perform live for the Live United Concert Series at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at The Waterfront at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls.

    Music in the Park featuring the Kyd J Band will take place starting at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at American Falls City Park.

    Station Square, 200 S. Main St. in Pocatello, hosts open mic night every Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.

    There will be an EDM night from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Aug. 8, at The Gem, 216 First St. in Idaho Falls. The Idahoan is Eastern Idaho’s premier progressive house DJ and music producer, carving a niche in the electronic music scene with a global reach. Inspired by legends like John Digweed and Paul Oakenfold, The Idahoan infuses modern progressive house beats with echoes of 90s electronica, bringing a unique and immersive sound to every performance.

    Friday, Aug. 9Gate City Young Professionals will host a putt-putt tournament with the theme “A Scary Good Time” at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at Outback Golf Park, 1665 Pocatello Creek Road in Pocatello.     This week’s Chubbuck Movies in the Park features “Kung Fu Panda 4” sponsored by Simplot, at dusk Friday, Aug. 9, at Stuart Park, 5161 Stuart Ave. Attendees are asked to come early and bring their own chairs and/or blankets. In case of inclement weather, movies will be rescheduled for the following Saturday at dusk. Admission is free.

    There will be a BCHC After Dark: Stargazing Party starting at 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the Bannock County Historical Complex, 3000 Avenue of the Chiefs in Pocatello. Join Bannock County Historical Society and the Pocatello Astronomical Society for an adults-only night of stargazing during the height of August’s Perseid Meteor Shower. Camping is optional but recommended. Bring your friends, a telescope or binoculars and BYOB. The Pocatello Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up and astronomical knowledge to share.     Saturday, Aug. 10The Great Snake River Triathlon will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, at South Tourist Park, 2800 S. Yellowstone Highway in Idaho Falls. This race is Tri Peaks Epic Events. Tickets can be found at tinyurl.com/mujhtzf8.

    The Blackfoot Makers Market is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Paisley Cakes, 747 S. Broadway St. in Blackfoot.

    The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello.

    The Chubbuck Days parade will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. The parade will proceed from the Pine Ridge Mall west entrance, 4155 Yellowstone Ave. in Chubbuck, onto Hawthorne Road, turning left onto West Chubbuck Road and ending at Independence Avenue. Following the parade, there will be a festival at Cotant Park, 625 Victor Ave. in Chubbuck, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can expect a variety of free fun family activities, including East Idaho News Ping Pong Drop to win prizes (one ball per person) at noon (Cotant Red Field), free watermelon feed sponsored by Walmart at 2:30 p.m. and the Chubbuck Fireman’s Rain at 2:45 p.m.

    The 33rd annual Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race will take place Saturday, Aug. 10. Festivities are planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the west side of the greenbelt. Ducks drop to race at 4 p.m. For more information and to purchase ducks, visit duckrace.com/idahofalls.

    Preservation Idaho will host the 47th annual Orchids and Onions Awards Reception on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Purpose Center 224 N. Main St. in Pocatello. Doors open at noon, and the presentation begins at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will follow the presentation. Orchids and Onions began in 1977 as an event ceremony designed to celebrate individuals and organizations that have contributed positively to historic preservation.     The Bannock Humane Society, 850 Barton Road in Pocatello, will host an adoption event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

    Reading Time with the Queens will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Discovery Dance School, 310 E. Clark St. in Pocatello. This program will be all about finding your Flower Power.

    The East Idaho Spay Neuter Coalition will host Pints ‘N Purrs from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Idaho Brewing Company, 775 S. Capital Ave. in Idaho Falls. Join for brews, tacos from Park Avenue Grill, raffles and live music from Judd & Friends. Admission is $20 and includes two pints of your choice and a certificate for an additional pint at a later date.

    The Leavitt Center, 1030 E. Sublette St. in Pocatello, will host a ’60s Dance Party Palooza from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. Dust off your bell bottoms and flower crowns for a night of psychedelic tunes, funky beats and far-out vibes. Come dressed in your retro best — prizes await the grooviest outfits.     Molinelli’s Jewelers will host its annual block party from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, on the 100 block of North Main Street in Pocatello. There will be live bands, food trucks, raffles and yard games. All proceeds will be donated to the Idaho Foodbank.

    Smile Empty Soul will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at The Gem, 216 1st St. in Idaho Falls. Smile Empty Soul is a hard rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California in the late 1990s.

    Pancho Barraza will perform live at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre in Pocatello. Tickets can be purchased at bannockcountyeventcenter.us or at the box office before the show. Ticket prices range from $30 to $175 depending on seat selection. Gates open at 7 p.m.

    Mike Oregano is slated to play from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at The Celt Pub & Grill, 398 W. Broadway St. in Idaho Falls. Truly a unique act unlike anything yet, Mike Oregano has fully commercialized both the aesthetic and sonic details of the one man band concept.

    Monday, Aug. 12The Pocatello Food Truck Round-Up is open from 4 to 8 p.m. every Monday at Lookout Point through September.

    The Black Rock Gold Prospectors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, downstairs at the Veterans Memorial Building, 300 N. Johnson Ave. in Pocatello. All interested are welcome to attend to get tips on panning, sluicing, dredging, demos, equipment and metal detecting.
