POCATELLO — Police are searching for the man who crashed a stolen luxury sedan into another vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in a Pocatello neighborhood and then got away on foot.

The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. when the adult male suspect driving a stolen Mercedes sedan collided with a Subaru compact SUV at East Wyeth Street and North Seventh Avenue, police said.

Following the crash the suspect immediately took off running to the west toward South Fifth Avenue, police said.

Pocatello police responded but could not locate the suspect after an intense search of the area.

The adult male driver of the Subaru was transported via Pocatello Fire Department ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center following the crash. His name and condition have not been released.

Both vehicles were totaled in the collision.

The East Wyeth-North Seventh intersection was partially blocked for more than 30 minutes because of the crash.

Authorities said the Mercedes was reported stolen in Pocatello on Monday.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the case. If you have any information on his identity, please contact Pocatello police immediately at 208-234-6100.
