A youth baseball team from the Treasure Valley is one win away from reaching the Little League World Series.

The West Valley Little League team, based out of Eagle, has been competing in the Little League Baseball Northwest Region Tournament in San Bernardino, California, for a shot at reaching the Little League World Series. West Valley reached the Northwest regional tournament after winning the Idaho state tournament in July. The Northwest regional tournament began Aug. 3.

The West Valley 12U team will play in the championship game on Thursday. Representing Idaho, they defeated Washington, 6-4, and Oregon, 5-3, to make it to Thursday’s title game. They’ll play either Washington or Oregon, who face each other in the elimination bracket on Wednesday.

The championship game begins at 7 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on ESPN. If West Valley (Idaho) wins, they’ll advance to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to represent the Northwest region.

The Little League World Series runs from Aug. 14-25.

While the West Valley baseball team has the opportunity to reach the Little League World Series, West Valley softball competed at the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina. The tournament began Aug. 4.

Representing Idaho, West Valley lost both of its games in the double-elimination tournament. They lost to the team from the Southwest region, 5-0, on Sunday and the Southeast, 9-0, on Tuesday.
