    2024 ISAT results place School District 25 among top academic performers across Idaho

    The 2024 ISAT results are in and place the Pocatello and Chubbuck School District 25 among the top academic performers for large school districts in Idaho.

    School District 25 ranks among the top five large school districts for math ISAT with 45.3 percent of students scoring proficient or higher, placing them above the state goal of 41.6 percent and the state average of 42.2 percent.

    In English Language Arts, or ELA, the district also ranks among the top three districts with 57.3 percent of students scoring proficient or higher which surpasses both the state goal of 52.6 percent and the state average of 53.3 percent.

    Pocatello-Chubbuck School District 25 is one of only three districts in science to exceed the state average with 44.9 percent of students scoring proficient or higher when compared to the state average of 41.2 percent.

    “PCSD 25’s continued success across all ISAT categories underscores the remarkable dedication and effort of our learners, teachers, and staff,” Superintendent Doug Howell said. “The 2024 results affirm that Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 excels in the core areas of Math, ELA, and Science, reflecting our focus on evidence-based practices that enhance learner outcomes. We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements and remain dedicated to leveraging visible learning principles to drive academic excellence and prepare our students for future success."

    Howell continued, "These achievements are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of our entire educational community. These results reflect our progress and motivates us to keep striving for excellence in every aspect of our educational programs.”

    Edahow Elementary school in particular had significant proficiency with 82.9 percent of learners scoring proficient or higher on the ELA ISAT against the 53.3 percent state average and 52.6 percent state goal.

    Showcasing further success within the school district 78.3 percent of learners at Edahow scored proficient or higher on the math ISAT and 76.3 percent scored proficient or higher on the science ISAT, placing the school among the top performers across the whole of Idaho.

    “PCSD 25 and its schools utilize ISAT and other state assessment data to guide school improvement efforts, identify professional development opportunities, and make informed curriculum and instructional decisions,” a SD25 press release said.
