    Inmate facing attempted murder charge dies after being found unresponsive at East Idaho jail

    IDAHO FALLS — An inmate at the Bonneville County Jail was found unresponsive in his cell, eventually passing away Sunday morning.

    Lucas Lamar Charboneau, 43, was booked into the jail on Aug. 20 for felony aggravated battery and felony attempted murder.

    Deputies found Charboneau unresponsive in a cell at around 5:25 a.m. Sunday and life-saving measures commenced until Idaho Falls Ambulance arrived. He was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he passed away.

    As part of standard practice, Sheriff Sam Hulse requested assistance from the Tri-County Sheriff’s Association to begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
