    Pritzker endorses Harris

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party's presidential candidate for the November election.

President Joe Biden announced Sunday he was not seeking reelection. Pritzker praised Biden for his service with an initial statement.

Monday morning, Pritzker's campaign said he is proud to endorse Harris, who could accept the party's nomination next month in Chicago before taking on former President Donald Trump Nov. 5.

Legislator cancels event after alleged threat

A DeKalb County man faces charges after allegedly threatening Republican state Rep. Jeff Keicher Friday.

Forrest Brandon, 58, was arrested Friday on charges of threatening a public official. Police said Brandon left a phone message at Keicher’s office, questioning the fact that Keicher was hosting a partisan event at a public high school and mentioned an assassination. The event was postponed.

    Students stranded after tech outage

Some Illinois students on an educational trip to Puerto Rico are stranded as airlines continue to play catchup after a global tech outage.

Twenty students from the Chicago area were supposed to arrive Friday, but a faulty software update from cyber security firm CrowdStrike caused a massive IT outage and ground stoppages at airports were issued.

The Gloria J Taylor Foundation said they have spent thousands of dollars to make sure the students have food and safe places to stay. The group was told they should be able to get home this week.
