    Immokalee man, 37, shot dead; perpetrator still at large Tuesday, Collier sheriff says

    An Immokalee man is dead from a Monday night gunshot wound while the accused shooter remained on the run Tuesday, authorities say.

    An incident report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Brandon Royal Christmas, 37.

    Deputies responded to a report of gunshots in Farmworker Village, in the area of Alexander Circle, shortly before midnight Tuesday. When deputies arrived, the sheriff's office said, they found Christmas dead in a parking lot.

    On scene, deputies found a Volkswagen car with a shattered back windshield and a pickup with the driver's door open. Authorities said they were able to obtain information about suspect vehicle, but the specific information is redacted in the report.

    Authorities later located and impounded the unoccupied suspected vehicle, the redacted report indicates.

    The sheriff's office said the incident is isolated and added there is no danger to the community at large.
