Crash blocking portion of Route 14 in Franklin County, Ill.
BUCKNER, Ill. (KFVS) - Drivers traveling Route 14 in Franklin County will want to find another route on Wednesday, July 31. According to an alert from the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency, a crash in Buckner has closed Rte. 14 from Rte. 148 at the Christopher 4-Way stop to Rend City Road.

Yenne Sworn In as Mt. Vernon’s Fire Chief
MT. VERNON – Chris Yenne was sworn in Monday as the City of Mt. Vernon’s new Fire Chief. According to a post on the Mt. Vernon Professional Fire Fighters Facebook page, Chief Yenne began his career with the Mt. Vernon Fire Department on June 3, 2002, and was promoted from Firefighter to Lieutenant on Dec. 22, 2010. He was later promoted from Lieutenant to Captain on Feb. 10, 2017. On Aug. 21, 2023, Chief Yenne was named the Assistant Fire Chief.
