Organizers gear up for cross-state Missouri River boat race
The 19th annual MR340 boat race will commence Tuesday, kicking off what is considered the world’s longest nonstop river race. The race runs 340 miles from Kansas City to St. Charles down the Missouri River. More than 400 individual and team boats are registered to compete in the event, according to the MR340 website.

Kansas needs to back off in effort to lure Kansas City Chiefs from Missouri. I do not want Kansas to become embroiled in a fiasco known as stealing the Chiefs from Kansas City. This concept is reckless indeed. Taxpayers will not reap the benefits Kansas Republicans put forth. Kansas Republicans are just like Capitol Hill Republicans.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Willy Agada scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute, lifting Sporting KC to a 1-1 draw with St. Louis. Agada scored with a header from the center of the box, finishing off a well-placed pass by Alan Pulido. Sporting’s Tim Melia made a big save in the 86th minute and St. Louis was limited to three shots on goal to Kansas City’s six. Roman Bürki made five saves for St. Louis. Nökkvi Thórisson got St. Louis on the board first, working hard to set up his right-footed shot from the center of the box in the 42nd minute.
