    UPDATE: 18-year-old killed after crashing into Independence building

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Independence Police Department is investigating a crash that left an 18-year-old dead after crashing into a building early Saturday morning.

    According to officers, a 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Noland Road, near 35th Street, just before 4:45 a.m. when Joshua Snowbarger lost control of the car, causing him to leave the roadway and strike a nearby business.

    Police investigate overnight stabbing at Lenexa, Kansas duplex

    IPD said officers arrived on the scene just after the crash and attempted to perform “lifesaving efforts” on the Snowbarger. However, police confirmed the he died from his injuries.

    The crash remains under investigation by the Crash Investigations Unit, according to IPD.
